Death sentence issued for posting blasphemous content

Islamabad, 8th January: Islamabad court sentenced three men to death for blasphemy on social media.
Baaghi TV: According to reports, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Friday, sentenced three men to death for publishing blasphemous content on social media.
According to reports, the three accused had uploaded blasphemous content on social media and publicized it openly, for which the court had issued death sentences to them.
As per reports from Geo News, the case has been pending in the Islamabad ATC for the last four years.
The trial was completed and the court reserved its verdict on December 15, 2020. Anti-terrorism court Judge Raja Jawad Abbas heard the case on Friday.
The court sentenced the three accused, Abdul Waheed, Rana Noman Rafaqat and Nasir Ahmed, to death.
A professor was also issued a 10-year imprisonment sentence and Rs 100,000 fine.
The court ordered in its judgement that the prosecution had succeeded in proving its case and the accused had been found guilty.
