Decision to remove Shamshad Akhtar as SAPM comes as a shock

Lahore (5th Dec, 2019): Special Adviser to Prim Minister Khan, Shamshad Akhtar, has been denotified from position. 

According to reports, the Special Adviser for Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has been discharged from her position. Shamshad Akhtar had been appointed for the Special Adviser to PM for public-private partnership on the 11th of July.

Sources have confirmed that the Special Adviser has been removed from her position. Moreover, the Cabinet Division has also denotified Prime Minister’s Assistant Special Media Officer, Yousef Beg Mirza, from his position. It is to be noted that Prime Minister Imran Khan had appointed Dr. Shamshad Akhtar as the Special Adviser for public-private partnership on the 12th of July.

Furthermore, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, was named governor of the State Bank of Pakistan earlier in 2005 and this was reportedly the first time that a female governor had been selected for such a reputable position.
