Defense Day Being Celebrated with Fervor Across the Nation

Defense Day is being celebrated with full fervor and enthusiasm across the country to pay homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defense of their beloved homeland.

September 6, 1965, was the day when Indian forces crossed the border in the dark of the night and attacked Pakistan but the nation thwarted the nefarious intentions of the enemy.

According to a Radio Pakistan report, the theme of this year’s Defense Day is “Our Martyrs, Our Pride, Greetings to all Relatives of the Martyrs”.

After Fajr prayers, special prayers were offered in mosques for the development and prosperity of the country and the liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir from the tyrannical clutches of India. ۔

In this regard, the day started with 31 salutes in the federal capital Islamabad and 21 salutes in the provincial capitals.

A prestigious guard change ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, in Karachi.

A General Salute was offered to the special guest on the occasion.

Special guest Air Officer Commanding Asghar Khan and Academy Air Vice Marshal Qaiser Khan Janjua laid flowers at the shrine of the martyrs and offered Fateha.

In addition, a dignified ceremony was held at the Naval Headquarters Islamabad to commemorate the martyrs. Special prayers were offered for the stability of the country and the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks.

During the ceremony, Chief of News Staff Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi laid flowers at the memorial and met with the martyrs’ families.

In separate Defense Day messages, President Arif Ali and Prime Minister Imran Khan renewed their commitment that the brave Pakistani nation would never compromise on its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

In his message, President Dr. Arif Ali said that Pakistan was fully aware of the progress being made in its neighborhood and was committed to maintaining peace while thwarting any conspiracy to disrupt said peace.

He appreciated the tireless efforts of the security agencies to expose the enemy carrying out secret activities.

Dr. Arif Alvi emphasized that Pakistan would never back down from its principled stand on the issue of Occupied Kashmir.

In his message, PM Imran Khan said that brave soldiers and officers, pilots, and sailors fought valiantly, without care for own their lives and defended the country’s borders by making great sacrifices.

He said that India today was exposed to the international community, especially for Pakistan, in an attempt to affect peace in the region.

The Prime Minister said that due to the active diplomacy of our government, the international community has now accepted that the persecution of minorities across India and the ongoing atrocities on innocent Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir must end immediately.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that India has to give Kashmiris their right to self-determination under UN Security Council resolutions which must be done as soon as possible.
