NEW DELHI — November 11, 2025: The Congress party has raised serious questions over the Modi government’s handling of the investigation into the recent Delhi car explosion near the Red Fort, which killed eight people and left over two dozen injured.
Congress MLA H.D. Ragnath criticized what he described as an “unprofessional and opaque probe,” saying that the Home Minister’s visit to the site of what was initially labeled a CNG cylinder blast was “unusual and politically motivated.”
Ragnath further alleged that the investigation into ammonium nitrate traces found at the site was mishandled, as the affected area had not been properly sealed for forensic analysis. He urged the government to disclose the “real facts” surrounding the incident, citing growing public mistrust in the investigation process.

Rising Attacks Under Ajit Doval’s Tenure
The scrutiny of the blast comes amid renewed criticism of India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, who has served in the position since May 2014. Despite promises to ensure “iron-clad security,” India has witnessed a string of major terrorist attacks across the country over the past decade.
From Kashmir to Kerala, and from Naxalite insurgencies to ISIS-linked incidents, dozens of attacks have shaken India under Doval’s watch, leaving hundreds of people dead and injured.
According to official and media reports, more than 500 people have been killed in terror-related violence between 2014 and 2025, with key incidents including:
- Bangalore Church Blast (2014): 1 killed, 5 injured.
- Gurdaspur Attack (2015): 10 killed at a police post.
- Pathankot Airbase Siege (2016): 7 soldiers martyred.
- Pulwama Suicide Attack (2019): 40 CRPF personnel killed.

- Reasi Pilgrims’ Attack (2024): 9 killed, 41 injured.
- Pahalgam Massacre (2025): 26 tourists killed.
- Delhi Red Fort Blast (2025): 8 dead, 30 injured.
Security experts note that the frequency of such incidents points to a rise in internal vulnerabilities, contradicting claims of improved national security under the Modi government.
Critics argue that rather than decreasing, terror attacks and internal unrest have escalated, reflecting what opposition leaders describe as a “failure of intelligence coordination and preventive action.”
As investigations continue into the Delhi Red Fort explosion, opposition figures are demanding greater transparency, accountability, and reform in India’s counterterrorism approach — particularly under the long-running tenure of Ajit Doval.
