Dharmasena preferred over Aleem Dar to stand in World Cup final.

Srilankan umpire Kumar Dharmasena has been preferred over Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar to stand in final of ICC wold Cup 2019.

According to reports of Baaghitv, in the final of ICC World Cup, played between host England and New Zealand, Kumar Dharmasena will replace Aleem Dar as standing umpire. Aleem dar will be performing duty as fourth umpire.

Aleem Dar has served as on-field umpire in the final of ICC World Cup 2007 and 2011 and has been consecutively awarded ICC umpire of the year in 2009, 2010 and 2011 respectively.

Marias Erasmus of South Africa will be other on-field umpire in the final of ICC World Cup 2019.

Kumar Dharmasena has been preferred despite he landed in controversy in the semi-final of World Cup, played between England and Australia, when English opener Jason Roy was given out despite the replay showing ball didn’t touch his bat and was a wide delivery.
