Dilip Kumar’s request granted by the KP Government
Lahore, 1st October: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to grant the legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar’s earnest wish.
Baaghi TV: After the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government decided to convert the ancestral homes of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor in the provincial capital Peshawar into museums, Dilip Kumar requested to share photos of his ancestral home. ۔
Recently, Dr Abdul Samad, director of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Archeology and Museums, said that the provincial government had initiated a government-wide operation to buy the houses of legendary Bollywood actors.

According to him, the government will buy the houses of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor and after renovation, both the places will be turned into museums to promote tourism.
According to Dr Abdul Samad, the current owners of the houses of the two actors want to build a commercial plaza there and they had started demolishing both the historic buildings in this regard.
Later, Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Bano appreciated the decision by the KP government to buy her husband’s ancestral home and turn it into a museum. Saira Bano had said that she wished success to the provincial government’s efforts and hoped may this dream come true this time.

“Every time I get this news about Yusuf’s ancestral home in Peshawar, my heart fills with joy, which the provincial government has repeatedly tried to turn into a monument,” she said.
“This house is of great emotional importance to my husband and I shared his pride and joy during a visit to the property a few years ago,” she said.
Recently, a journalist shared photos of Dilip Kumar’s ancestral home in Peshawar on the social networking site Twitter. Actor Dilip Kumar retweeted the photos and thanked them for sharing photos of his home.

The legendary actor added in his tweet that all Peshawar residents are requested to share photos of my ancestral house. Remember that Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor were born in Peshawar in United India before the partition of India.
Dilip Kumar was born in 1922 in the recent Qissa Khawani Bazaar area of Peshawar to a Muslim family and his real name is Muhammad Yousuf. Dilip Kumar has been awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan for his film services.
Actor Raj Kapoor was born in 1924 to a Hindu family in Haveli Dilgaran area of present-day Peshawar.
Apart from the two Bollywood legends, a few other Bollywood personalities were born in Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
