According to Baaghi TV, the hearing on the petition against the disqualification of Federal Minister Faisal Vawda took place in the Islamabad High Court.
According to reports, the lawyer did not appear on behalf of Faisal Vawda. Following which Justice Amir Farooq adjourned the hearing for some time.
Matiullah Jan, a senior journalist from Islamabad, tweeted on social networking site Twitter: “Federal Minister Faisal Vawda disqualification case hearing in Islamabad High Court, Faisal Vawda disappears along with his lawyer. Justice Amir Farooq adjourned the hearing for some time.”

The court has rejected Faisal Vawda’s plea for immediate stay of the proceedings. The court has issued notices to the parties on the plea to stay the proceedings.
Federal Minister Faisal Vawda had filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court seeking stay of the proceedings in the disqualification case at the last hearing. The federal minister’s lawyer filed a stay order on the court proceedings. The petition states that 4 similar petitions are pending in the Election Commission. The court is requested to stay the proceedings till the Election Commission decides on the petitions.
Federal Minister Faisal Vawda’s disqualification petition states that he submitted a fake affidavit in the nomination papers. The petition said that Faisal Vawda should be disqualified for submitting fake affidavits as MNAs were not honest and trustworthy. The Supreme Court has disqualified 2 centers for having dual citizenship.
According to the petitioner, Faisal Vawda submitted his application for renunciation of US citizenship on June 22nd. Faisal Vawda has illegally held public office. He has not yet submitted his reply to the disqualification petition. The parties deliberately want to prolong the issue.
