‘Donald Trump shows interest in buying Roosevelt Hotel’
United States (US) president, Donald Trump is interested in purchasing the Roosevelt Hotel in New York which is owned by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) according to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Privatization.
According to the details, Managing Director (MD) PIA Investments said that Donald Trump wanted to buy the PIA-owned Roosevelt Hotel in the past and still interested in purchasing it.
Minister for Privatisation Muhammad Mian Soomro said that the government is not selling the property however, we are planning to lease it out or work in a joint venture with the private sector.
Cabinet committee meeting on privatization of Roosevelt Hotel
On June 2, a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Privatization (CCoP) has decided that the Roosevelt Hotel will not be privatized and would be run under a joint venture with the private sector.
According to the details, CCoP meeting chaired by Finance Advisor Hafeez Sheikh, has decided not to sell the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)-owned Roosevelt Hotel in New York. However, the hotel will be merged with a private party through a joint venture.
