Lahore, 14th May: A huge blast during Friday prayers kills 17 worshippers including the imam of the mosque.
According to reports, 17 worshipers including the imam were martyred as a result of the explosion in a mosque of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, sources from Kabul said that according to an Afghan police spokesman, the blast took place inside a mosque in the Shakar Dara district of Kabul.
According to officials, Friday prayers were being offered in the mosque at the time of the blast. As a result of the blast, 17 worshipers were martyred and several others were injured.
The Afghan Taliban, who had announced a three-day ceasefire on account of Eid-ul-Fitr, has condemned the incident, accusing it of being part of the Kabul administration’s anti-religious crimes.
It is believed to be the first major incident during the three-day ceasefire between the Taliban and the Afghan government.
