Earthquake Shook Different Cities of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Severe tremors in many parts of the country.

According to sources, a strong earthquake shook the northern part of the country on Thursday evening. The epicenter was reported below the ground, however; no tsunami alert was issued.

According to media reports, strong tremors were felt in the federal capital Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir, after which people came out of their houses and buildings in panic.

During this time, people were constantly chanting Kalima Tayyaba and Allah o Akbar Allah o Akbar. It has been reported that the magnitude of the tremors was felt in Islamabad, Swat, Batgram, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Mangla, Murree, Neelam Valley and others.

According to the seismological center, the magnitude of the quake was 4.4, the depth was 20 km and the epicenter was 25 km northeast of Mingora. Due to the shallow depth, the magnitude of the tremors was felt. No casualties or damage were reported from the quake.

It should be noted that Pakistan has been under constant earthquakes for some time now. The Swat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular is prone to earthquakes on a daily basis.
