Lahore, 10th March: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) once again turned down the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) plea seeking to stop the issuance of notification of Senator-elect Yousaf Raza Gillani’s victory.

According to the Baaghi TV report, a safe decision has been announced on PTI’s request for the disqualification of Yousuf Raza Gillani. ECP has rejected and said the notification will be issued.

Earlier today, the commission reserved its decision after hearing arguments of Senator-elect from Punjab Barrister Ali Zafar, who represented the petitioners.

The Commission issued notices to the former premier and his son Ali Haider Gillani over the video leak scandal and adjourned the hearing until March 22.

According to earlier reports by Baaghi TV, a four-member bench of the Election Commission headed by Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi heard the case.

Advocate Alia Hamza of PTI appeared before the commission along with her lawyer.

Qureshi had asked to bring the bribe-takers and givers before the court. The Member Election Commission also said that the authenticity of audio and videotapes is unquestionable.

PTI’s Farrukh Habib and Malika Bukhari’s lawyer Ali Zafar appeared before the commission. Advocate Ali Zafar said that they have made a transcript of the video where Jamil Ahmed Khan and Faheem Khan can be seen in the video. Ali Haider Gilani is the one who is paying the bribe, the person who made the video is presenting his affidavit.

As per reports, Advocate Ali Zafar said that ECP should not issue notification of PPP’s Yousuf Raza Gillani in the same way as you did in Daska case. Candidates were successful due to corrupt practice.

Altaf Ibrahim said that the law requires that the other party be heard and decide in the light of the law.
