Lahore, 25th February: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) orders repolling in Daska NA-75.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, ECP on Thursday has declared by-polls held in NA-75 as null and void and has ordered to hold polling again on March 18.

According to reports, PML-N had requested the ECP to hold polling in the Daska constituency as the February 19 election was deformed by controversies. PML-N leaders hailed the ECP’s verdict calling it historic.

The ECP retained the results after 20 presiding officers in the constituency went missing for several hours and were found involved in rigging.

RO Athar Abbasi had said in his report along with the record of the pollings, submitted in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) that the investigation revealed that presiding officers were involved in rigging.

Nausheen Iftikhar, PML-N candidate in the constituency had raised reservations over the results by stating the difference between the Form 45 copy available with her and with Presiding Officer is different.

As per reports from ARY News, Returning Officer said in his statement that PML-N candidates secured 3500 votes from the 23 polling stations, while Nausheen claimed to get 5000 votes.

RO claimed that apparently the results were altered and suggested re-polling on the 23 polling stations.

It is important to note here that the ECP had seized the electoral record of by-polls in NA-75 Daska on Saturday after rigging allegations were made against each other in the constituency by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
