 Lahore, 17th August: All educational institutes across Sindh province will reopen on August 23 with 50 percent attendance.

According to details, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah announced on Tuesday that all schools across Sindh will reopen n August 23, with 50% attendance.

Addressing a press conference today, the provincial minister informed that the educational institutes will reopen under COVID-19 SOPs to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

He said that the government has decided to allow schools to reopen after a summer break with fully vaccinated teaching and non-teaching staff. However, random PCR tests will be conducted across the schools.

Shah said that all schools across the province will be monitored to ensure the health and safety guidelines are being adhered to.

It may be recalled that on August 8, the Sindh government announced it would defer the opening of schools until August 19, post-Ashura, after heeding the health department’s recommendations.

Shah had issued orders to keep the schools closed since the COVID-19 positivity rate has not fallen below 23 percent in the metropolitan city despite lockdown.

It is to be noted that schools across the country except in Sindh reopened on August 2, with 50 percent attendance, as per the government’s orders.
