Eighty-four deaths across Pakistan as new cases continue to be reported

Latest figures released by the National Command & Operation Center (NCOC) shows, that 4,723 new cases and 84 deaths have been confirmed in Pakistan.

According to reports, NCOC statistics show that the mortality rate in Pakistan has reached 14,697 deaths, as number of active COVID-19 cases has risen to 56,347. Meanwhile, 67,205 people have recovered since the outbreak last year.

According to reports, the positivity rate has reached 9.4% as highest number of deaths confirmed across Punjab with 6,485 casualties. While 26 districts including: Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Okara, Multan, Peshawar, Swat, Swabi and others are reported to be high risk areas across Pakistan. Meanwhile, most reported cases have been confirmed in Sindh with 265,917 cases.

Moreover, a country-wide corona virus inoculation programme is underway. In its second phase, people over the ages of 60 are being vaccinated. Meanwhile, registration for vaccination of citizens 50 and above has also been started.
