Baaghi TV: In his speech, Prime Minister Imran Khan accused the Election Commission of harming democracy. On which the Election Commission of Pakistan has convened a special meeting today.
According to sources, the meeting chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner will review the statement of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The Election Commission will respond to the Prime Minister’s statement within the constitutional limits.
It is important to note that after the situation in the Senate elections, the Federal Ministers had issued a joint press conference and individual statements of which the Election Commission has taken notice.
It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had questioned the performance of the Election Commission and said that the Supreme Court had given you a chance but what was the reason that bar-coding could not be done on 1500 ballot papers? The Election Commission gave political parties the opportunity of horse-trading in the Senate elections and undermined democracy. I had already pointed out the money transaction before the Senate election.
Addressing the Election Commission, Imran Khan had asked, “Democracy has gone up or down with the Senate elections. The nation sends a message that if the perpetrator is not one of us, then why did the Election Commission not investigate the money distribution video?” If Yousuf Raza Gilani becomes a senator by spending money, will corruption be eradicated from the country?
Imran Khan said, “The Election Commission saved the criminals who sold votes, because the whole nation saw that one person won by using money.”
