Election Day | What will the Weather be like across the Country?

Irfan Virk, Director of the Meteorological Department (Met Dept) has said that the weather is expected to remain cold and dry in most parts of the country on election day.
The weather will remain dry in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Sindh, and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) while the weather in the hilly areas will remain very cold due to heavy snowfall. There is a possibility of fog in some districts of North East Punjab in the morning hours. A spell of rain is not expected yet, the weather will remain dry and cold till next week.

It should be noted that, according to the Election Commission (ECP), 90,675 polling stations and 2,66,398 polling booths have been established across the country, while 1,490,000 election staff will perform the duties of polling. Meanwhile, 16,766 polling stations have been declared highly sensitive and 29,985 as sensitive. The presiding officers have been given the powers of the first-class magistrate to control the law and order situation at the polling stations. While the Pakistan Army has been deployed outside the most sensitive polling stations.

Polling has been postponed in four constituencies due to the death of the contending candidates. Polling has been postponed due to the death of candidate Ismatullah Khattak from PK 91 Kohat 2. Apart from this, there will be no polling in NA 8 Bajaur, PK 22 Bajaur 4 after the death of candidate Rehan Zeb. Similarly, elections will not be held in PP 266 Rahim Yar Khan 12, due to the death of candidate Asrar Hussain. The schedule for these constituencies will be released again after the general elections.
