Ashes: England bounces back as Australia achieve slim lead

Dec 26, 2021: In their first innings of the third Ashes Test in Melbourne on Sunday, England were bowled out for just 185, with Australia captain Pat Cummins and spin king Nathan Lyon doing the most damage.

Captain Joe Root top-scored with 50 and Johnny Bairstow with 35, but it was another poor performance for the tourists in the face of advanced bowling.

Both Cummins and Lyon ended 3-36. Australia have a 2-0 lead in the five-match Test series and need only a draw to retain the Ashes.

Australia currently trail by 124 runs after losing their first wicket with David Warner being bowled out by James Anderson at 38.
