Ethiopian Airlines may ground Pakistani pilots tomorrow

According to the reports, Baaghi TV has reliably learnt that Ethiopian Airways may ground all Pakistani pilots on June 29th, 2020 (tomorrow).

According to the sources, Pakistani pilots may be grounded by Ethiopian Airways after it was found that 30% of the country’s civilian pilots have fake licenses.

Baaghi TV reported that the Kuwaiti authorities also grounded seven Pakistani pilots and 56 engineers have been suspended. Moreover, yesterday Vietnam also fired 20 Pakistani pilots on the directive of Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority (CAAV).

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has written to foreign missions and international regulatory and safety bodies assuring them that it has grounded all 141 pilots whose licenses were in doubt.

It may be recalled that Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan had said in a press conference in Islamabad that the number of pilots questioned was 262, 141 were in PIA, 9 in Airblue, 10 in SereneAir, 17 formerly working in Shaheen Airlines and 85 in others.

While addressing Pakistan’s National Assembly, Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that the country has 860 active pilots serving its domestic airlines, as well as some foreign carriers, and that 262 have fake licences and are not qualified to fly.

The government has decided to take strict action against all pilots who have been flying commercial jets without a licence.
