October 4, 2021 : The data of Facebook’s over 1.5 billion users is now being sold on the dark web amid a global outage of the social media company and its connected services.

As per a reports, the data is being sold on a hacker forum. According to Russian media, Facebook has been hacked, after which the data of one and a half billion users of the platform has been offered for sale on hacker forums.

According to Russian media, users’ names, emails, phone numbers, locations and user IDs are included.

On the other hand, after the services of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were affected, Facebook suffered a severe loss, and the price of Facebook’s shares fell 5.7% on the US Stock Exchange.

Worldwide, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp services have been down for the past several hours.

Users of social networking sites are facing severe problems due to the suspension of services.

The Facebook administration has apologized to users for affecting the service. However, Facebook’s share price has fallen by 5.7% on the US stock exchange so far, which will cost it about ً 50 billion.

Facebook Inc said it was working to get the platforms back up and running.

“We’re aware that some of our apps and products aren’t working for some people.

Facebook wrote on Twitter, “We’re working to get things back to normal as soon as possible, and we apologize for any disturbance.”

In addition, Instagram issued an apology:

“Instagram and friends are having some troubles right now, and you might be having trouble utilizing them. Please bear with us; we’re working on it!”

WhatsApp apologized in the same way that Facebook did:

“We’re aware that some people are having problems with WhatsApp right now. We’re working to restore normalcy and will provide an update as soon as possible.

“Thank you for your patience!”
