False ceiling at the Islamabad International Airport collapses
Islamabad, 16th August: A major portion of the false ceiling at the Islamabad International Airport has collapsed after the heavy downpour in the city.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, a portion of the false ceiling of Islamabad International Airport’s (IIA) international and domestic departure lounges collapsed during recent rainfall in the capital.

Heavy leakage of water has been observed in the hall after the incident. No one was injured in the incident and there was also no disruption in the service.
Aviation Division spokesman Senior Joint Secretary Abdul Sattar Khokhar said it was an extraordinary 56mm rain which fell in a short span of time.

Earlier, many incidents were reported by Baaghi TV, where a portion of the airport ceiling along with a glass door of the newly built state of the art airport fell to the ground, exposing weak built quality.
The collapse of ceilings after heavy rain is the living proof of the poor quality of construction work at one of the major airports in Pakistan.
