‘Family Guy’ season 19 features a joke about PSL
Lahore, 29th September: ‘Family Guy’ sitcom season 19 premiere features a joke about the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
According to reports, a popular animated comedy sitcom ‘Family Guy’ premiered season 19 on September 27 with a joke about PSL teams Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars.
In the first episode of season 19, the central character Peter Griffin is seen sitting with his friends at a bar when all of a sudden they start discussing foreign sports.

“On Saturday mornings, it’s just weird foreign sports fans, like those Pakistani cricket hooligans,” Griffin’s friend, Glenn Quagmire, remarks.
The screen then focuses on two Pakistani sports fans, sporting light green shirts with ‘Lahore’ emblazoned on the front holding soda cans.
“If you’re not rooting for Lahore, please you may leave I can tell you,” one of the two Pakistanis, sporting a light moustache, says in a thick accent.

His companion in thicker moustache replies, “Lahore cricketers are the best and the others are not the best, dear friends.”
The camera then focuses on the other recurring character of the show, Joe Swanson who seems to be a fan of the Karachi Kings, covers up his Karachi Kings’ fan shirt.

‘Family Guy‘ is an American animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company that debuted on January 31, 1999.
The show features the Griffin family, comprising of parents Peter and Lois; their children, Meg, Chris, and Stewie; and their anthropomorphic pet dog, Brian.

Set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, and exhibits dark humour and portrayal of American culture.
The show has bagged multiple Emmy Awards over the years and has broadcast more than 350 episodes spanning 18 seasons.
Season 19 premiered on Sunday, September 27.
