Famous England footballer Michael Owen to visit Pakistan

Former British footballer Michael Owen is ‘thrilled’ to arrive in Pakistan on a three-day visit in connection with his joint efforts alongside Global Soccer Ventures (GSV) to revamp soccer in Pakistan.
According to Baaghi TV reports, the famous Michael Own is set to arrive in Pakistan on a three-day visit between the 25th to the 27th of January. Known for being one of the most famous players not only in England but across the globe as well, Owen was declared World Player of the Year in 2001. He was the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) Sports Personality of the Year in 1998.

Michael Owen will hold important meetings during his Pakistan visit. According to reports, Owen will lay the foundation stone for the NED Football Ground in Karachi. Earlier reports suggested that the NED (Nadirshaw Edulji Dinshaw) University of Engineering & Technology signed a 10-year agreement with GSV to establish Pakistan’s first state-of-the-art soccer stadium in Karachi. It was reported that under the agreement, the two will develop a “series of football infrastructure projects” in Karachi including a stadium that will be equipped with world-class facilities.
In addition, the program also includes a visit to Lyari, a stronghold of football fans. The world-renowned footballer will also grace the opening ceremony of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) on January 27.

According to reports, other international football coaches have also come to Pakistan with him. This important visit of Michael Owen will be a milestone in the promotion of football in Pakistan. I am thrilled to play my part in helping Global Soccer Ventures with their efforts to revamp soccer in Pakistan. Look forward to seeing you soon. #FootballHoga”.
