In response to a question, Allama Mousavi said that the positive role of the religious scholars is urgently needed to create peace and brotherhood in the society. He said that there is intolerance among the scholars which is detrimental to the Ummah. He added that the religious scholars should tolerate each other to make this society an Islamic and successful one. He further said, that they should aim to be scholars of moral conduct, and should not call each other infidels, rather should respect each other’s differing opinions.

In response to a question, Allama Mousavi said that the Messenger of Allah used to treat non-Muslims kindly, but we do not respect others, nor do we tolerate them. He said that this is not the case in other countries, people of all religions respect each other, but we show intolerance despite following the message of peace in Islam. Allama Haqqani went on to say that we need to enforce certain laws to prevent such behavior. In addition to the call to prayer, the use of speakers in mosques should be banned.

If anyone speaks offensively about the companions of the Prophet (SAW) and other personalities of religious significance including the scholars of other sects, they should be punished. He said that no one should try to impose his/her opinions and beliefs on others. Allama Mousavi said that this problem is only in our country, not in other countries. Hindus, Christians and people of other religions respect each other’s religion, there is a rule of law, we should also adopt this kind of law.
