The Fatah-II was revealed in 2023 and officially inducted into service in early 2024. It incorporates advanced technologies such as a supersonic glide vehicle that separates from its propulsion system in the upper atmosphere, enabling mid-course maneuverability and making it more resilient against missile defense systems.
Fatah-III: Next-Generation Guided Rocket System
Although limited information is available on Fatah-III, it is expected to have a range of approximately 450 km, building upon the advancements made in Fatah-I and Fatah-II. The development of Fatah-III aligns with Pakistan’s efforts to establish a multi-layered rocket artillery inventory, providing enhanced precision-strike capabilities ¹ ².
Strategic Significance
The Fatah series reflects Pakistan’s growing emphasis on indigenous defense production and self-reliance. These systems are designed to provide precision engagement and stand-off capabilities, enabling the Pakistan Army to conduct deep penetration strikes into enemy territory. The development of the Fatah series underscores a doctrinal shift toward precision engagement and standoff capabilities, enhancing Pakistan’s deterrence posture in the region ¹.
