LAHORE, Oct 15 (APP):Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Tuesday said Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman would not hold the Azadi march.

Talking to the media here at the Lahore Railway Station, he said the government was in talks with the JUI-F for a peaceful way out.

Only former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he said, was supporting the JUI-F protest, whereas Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif had not yet decided to join the Maulana.

Maryam Nawaz had caused severe damage to the PML-N, he maintained.

The minister said that he would make a prediction on October 26 regarding Maulana’s protest and sit-in. The government did not make any plan to arrest the JUI-F workers, he added.

He said more than 7,000 Pakistan Railways contractual employees would be regularized after the cabinet’s approval.

Additional coaches of economy class category were being attached with the Jinnah Express to facilitate the passengers, he added.

Sheikh Rashid also inaugurated the Healer’s Pharma Medical Store at the railway station and also checked the quality of food.
