Fazlur Rehman’s close aide arrested by NAB

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested the father of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s personal secretary.

According to the details, NAB sources said that the arrested Musa Khan Baloch is a former DFO and assets in excess of income are being investigated against Musa Khan Baloch. Musa’s eldest son Tariq Baloch is Fazlur Rehman’s personal secretary.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also launched an investigation against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. The JUI-F chief will be asked about the excess assets on October 1 by NAB Peshawar. According to sources, NAB headquarters has issued orders to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to investigate against JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Rehman will be questioned about excess assets as compared to his income. He has also been the chairman of the Kashmir Committee and the head of the MMA. Similarly, his brother Zia-ur-Rehman is also accused of illegal recruitment and corruption in the sale and purchase of machinery.

Fazlur Rehman has said that no notice has been received from the NAB. Talking in this regard, Maulana Khalid Mehmood Soomro said that if it is decided that Maulana appears in NAB, then 3 million workers will also appear in NAB along with him.
