According to investigators in Texas, the case first surfaced in March 2023, when the Department of Family and Protective Services flagged concerns over the boy’s welfare. Reports suggested the child suffered from serious health complications and had not been seen publicly since October 2022. Singh was later charged with his murder in Tarrant County and placed on the FBI’s high-priority fugitive list.
