Lahore, 12th May: Federal cabinet has decided to put Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s name on a no-fly list.

According to reports, a sub-committee of the federal cabinet has recommended putting the name of the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif in the Exit Control List (ECL).

While addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed announced that during the meeting of the cabinet’s sub-committee, it has been decided to put Shehbaz Sharif’s name in the ECL list.

He further informed that the decision has been made on the recommendation from National Accountability Bureau (NAB), after which the cabinet will make its final decision.

Rasheed added that SAPM on accountability Shahzad Akbar informed him that Shehbaz Sharif’s name was not placed on the blacklist.

Interior Minister said that they have not yet received any application from the PML-N president to allow him to travel abroad.

Sheikh Rasheed further said that Sharif can file a review against the decision within 15 days and appear before the committee to express his grievances.

It is to be noted that Shehbaz Sharif was offloaded from Qatar Airways’ flight at Allama Iqbal International Airport on May 8, a day after the Lahore High Court granted him one-time permission to fly abroad for his medical treatment.
