Federal Government announces Eid Holidays

Islamabad, 16th May: Federal Government has decided on issuing the eid holidays in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Asad Umar.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, Federal Minister Asad Umar has announced to give 9 holidays on Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to details, in the meeting, it is decided to issue 9 holidays on Eid-ul-Fitr starting from May 23 to May 31.

The chief secretaries of the four provinces agreed on the proposal to grant 9 holidays and the final notification of Eid holidays will be issued by the federal government. The Punjab government has said that it will give Eid holidays as per the decision of the federation.

Great news for government employees regarding Eid holidays

Speaking in the National Assembly, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said, “We have to save the people from the economic downturn and the coronavirus. There may be more cases and deaths in late May and June.”

 

On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has made the prediction of the new moon of the month of Shawwal. The moon of Shawwal 1441 AH will start to appear on May 22 at 10:40 AM. The chances of seeing the moon on 29th Ramadan i.e 23rd May are low. On the 30th Ramadan i.e on the 24th of May, there is a strong possibility of moon sighting.

The Meteorological Department said that partly cloudy weather is expected in most parts of the country during this period. The first Shawwal is likely to take place on May 25, 2020.

It has been suggested to the government that all Eid prayer gatherings in the city should be held in the open ground instead of mosques.

However, a special meeting of the Cabinet Committee is being held to decide the policy of Eid gatherings. The government has been informed by the Ulema-e-Ikram that Eid prayer gatherings will be held in any case and no obstruction will be tolerated.
