Federal government announces projects worth Rs 400 billion

Thursday, July 16th: Government spokesman Shibli Faraz has said that construction projects worth Rs 400 billion have been announced.

According to details, a meeting of the National Coordination Committee for Housing was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which the progress in the ongoing projects was reviewed. Briefing the media after the meeting, Information Minister Shibli Faraz said that the best investment comes from effective policies. Facilities will be created for the people through a mechanism.

Shibli Faraz said that the important meeting chaired by the Prime Minister discussed the suggestions of the investors in the construction sector and suggested a road show abroad on construction projects as the construction sector has an impact on other sectors.

“The government’s policies are focusing on the poor,” he said. The poor man has difficulty in getting a loan from a bank, so the government will work to repay the loan installments from the banks, because if the loan installments are easily repaid, the poor will be able to build a house.

The Information Minister said that the mark-up for construction of 5 Marla house has been kept at 5%.

Dr. Sania Nishtar said that the budget of Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program launched by the federal government for the benefit of poor people has been increased from 144 billion to 203 billion.
