Film actor Shahin Alam passes away

Renowned Bangla Film actor Shahin Alam passed away at a hospital in Dhaka on Monday night.

Shahin Alam breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Asgar Ali Hospital around 10:05pm, confirmed his son-in-law Tanvir. 

The actor had been suffering from severe kidney problems and was admitted to the hospital on March 5.

As his condition deteriorated, he was put on life support on March 6.

Shahin Alam made his silver screen debut with the film Mayar Kanna after participating in a talent hunt competition titled “Notun Mukher Sondhane” organized by Bangladesh Film Development Corporation in 1986.

He had acted in over a hundred films including Ek Palakey, Gariber Shongshar, Ghater Majhi, Teji, Chadabaj, Prem Pratishod, Tiger, Rag-Onurag, Dagi Shontan, Bagha-Baghini, Swapner Nayak, Ojana Shotru, Prem Diwana, Big Boss, Pagla Babul, Shoktir Lorai, Dhakaia Mastan, Bidrohi Salauddin and others.
