Financial Adviser expelled from the National Finance Commission
Lahore, 22nd July 2020: The government has expelled the financial adviser Abdul Hafeez Sheikh from the National Finance Commission.
The Islamabad High Court heard the petition of PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir against the formation of the National Finance Commission in which Attorney General Khalid Javed presented a new notification.
The Attorney General told the court that the notification which was challenged was withdrawn by the government and the government has now issued a new notification that rendered the first notification ineffective. Now, according to the new notification, the financial adviser has not been included in the commission.

The Attorney General said that he also objected to the notification of the formation of the old Finance Commission and now requested the court to declare Khurram Dastgir’s application as ineffective.
On this occasion, Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said that our objection was that the Finance Commission was formed without consulting us but our success is that we forced the government to work under the constitution.
The court later disposed of Khurram Dastgir’s application after a new notification was issued.
