Lahore, 10th June: The latest controversy between female politician Firdous Ashiq Awan and PPP leader Qadir Mandokhel has taken the nation by storm.

Since yesterday night when the incident happened, social media is stormed with videos and various memes on both the politicians.

Famous micro-blogging website Twitter is trending with the hashtags #FirdousAshiqAwan, #QadirMandoKhel and #JavedChaudhry as the top trends on Thursday.

Punjab Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan and PPP leader Qadir Mandokhel had a heated exchange of words at a talk show on a private channel Express TV on allegations of corruption.

PML-N leader Azmi Bukhari was also present on the TV show. The host of the show tried to keep Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan and Qadir Mandokhel silent but they could not stop abusing and blaming each other.

After which the host went for a break during his show. However, the heated exchange and use of hands was caught on camera and went viral last night.

People on social media have condemned the act by both leaders. Netizens have been sharing memes on Twitter.

Social media users also criticized Javed Chaudhry and other anchors of the country for hosting such talk shows where the blame game is played to get high ratings of their programs.

Twitteratis have also pointed out a new world trend of freedom of slapping, comparing Firdous Ashiq Awan’s slapping incident with that of French President Macron, who was recently slapped by a citizen.
