According to Baaghi TV reports, the move to hold Senate elections by secret ballot was challenged in the Lahore High Court.
The first constitutional petition of the new year was filed by Azhar Siddique Advocate. The petitioner said that, in the Senate elections, allegations of rigging, are made. To allay fears of fraud, the Senate elections were held by open ballot.
The petitioner said that the Senate elections are held under the Election Act and Article (6) 122 of the Election Act is unconstitutional. The clause of holding the Senate elections by secret ballot should be annulled.
