First International Flight from UAE to Land in Kabul

Flights have been restored at Kabul Airport, and the first flight from the UAE will be landing soon, wherein Arab officials will be meeting up with the Taliban.

According to reports, Taliban leader Ahmadullah Mutaqi has said that UAE officials are flying to Kabul to meet top Taliban officials.

The Netherlands, on the other hand, has announced that it will provide one million euros for the reconstruction of Kabul International Airport.

Earlier, Turkey had also expressed interest in managing the Kabul Airport and talks have been held between the Taliban and Turkish authorities on the issue. After the United States announced its completion of the evacuation operation from Afghanistan, 123,000 people left through Kabul Airport for abroad, including a large number of foreigners as well as Afghan nationals.

The streets of Kabul are being wall-chalked for independence in the wake of US withdrawal.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said after the withdrawal of US forces that the Doha Agreement was done so that foreign occupation was over. “We undertook jihad and the political route to expel foreigners who decided to leave under the Doha Agreement. After the formation of the government, we will pay close attention to the preparation of the national army,” he said.

Zabihullah Mujahid further went on to say that the Doha Agreement was done so that foreign occupation would end. Now there was no justification for rebelling against the Islamic Government, according to him. He said, “If we can defeat superpowers, no group is a problem for us. The order issued from Kabul will apply to the whole of Afghanistan. First, we want to solve the problem through dialogue otherwise we have the military capability. Haqqani Sahib is the deputy emir of the Islamic Emirate.”

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the United States failed miserably in Afghanistan, saying, “Look at the end of the American people who kept looking negatively towards Afghanistan.”
