Lahore, 28th May: Pakistan receives the first shipment of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
According to reports, the first shipment of coronavirus vaccine doses of Pfizer-BioNTech has reached Pakistan, which is provided by COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access (COVAX).
As per reports from sources, a special flight carrying the shipment of 100,000 doses of Pfizer COVID vaccine arrived today, however, the syringes for the vaccination will arrive in the country within the next two days.
Sources have also informed that the latest stock of COVID-19 vaccine has been stored at the warehouse of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) before its usage across Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan has received the second shipment from COVAX of COVID-19 vaccines. The first shipment came with the stock of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine doses earlier this month.
It is to be noted that so far, Pakistan has received Sinopharm and Sinovac, the coronavirus vaccines from China and AstraZeneca under the COVAX facility.
