Flight operations suspended due to coronavirus spread

Thursday, June 18th: Coronavirus cases are on the rise in Saudi Arabia, prompting the government to suspend regional air operations.

According to Arab media, 4,919 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Saudi Arabia in the last 24 hours, which is the highest number of cases in a single day so far. Confirming the cases, the Saudi Ministry of Health said that the total number of patients in the country has reached 141,234.

According to the Ministry of Health, more than 4,000 new cases are from Riyadh, where 2,371 cases were reported.The Saudi Ministry of Health says the coronavirus has been confirmed in 10 people who ignored social distance at work and avoided wearing masks, while two of them are in critical condition.

According to the Ministry of Health, 39 more patients died in the country in 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,091, while another 2,122 patients recovered in 24 hours.

On the other hand, the government has further extended the suspension of international air operations in view of the growing number of Coronavirus cases in the country.

According to Arab media, the government has directed to launch an international air operation for the repatriation of Saudi nationals stranded in other countries only, through which the citizens have been allowed to return home.

According to Arab media, the regional air operation, which has been resumed in the country since May 31st, has once again been suspended for two months.
