FM Qureshi leaves for Iraq on an important mission

Lahore, 28th May: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi leaves for an Islamic country on a three-day important mission.

At the invitation of his Iraqi counterpart, Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi left for a three-day visit to Iraq on Friday.

The Foreign Minister will have a special meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Fawad Hussein. The meeting will focus on bilateral relations, promotion of bilateral cooperation in multilateral fields, challenges facing the Muslim world and other important regional and global issues.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister will also meet with the Iraqi leadership, including President Barham Saleh. In his meetings with the Iraqi leadership, the Foreign Minister will also discuss the difficulties faced by ‘visitors to Iraq every year’ and measures to facilitate them.

Talks will also be held with the Iraqi leadership on enhancing bilateral political and defense cooperation.

The Foreign Minister’s visit to Iraq is expected to be a link in the development of high-level contacts with Muslim countries in the light of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision.

It is hoped that the visit of the Foreign Minister will further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
