FM Qureshi meets his Afghan counterpart

Lahore, 19th November: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi accompanied by a delegation called on his Afghan counterpart.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi along with his delegation met with his Afghan counterpart.

The Afghan Foreign Minister welcomed Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his delegation. During the meeting, bilateral relations, the Afghan peace process and the situation in the region were discussed. Shah Mehmood Qureshi thanked his Afghan counterpart for the warm welcome.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan and Afghanistan have historical fraternal relations, the Afghan issue cannot be resolved by force, Pakistan has been a supporter of dialogue for lasting and lasting peace.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi further said that peace and stability in the region are conditional on the establishment of peace in Afghanistan, the world is happy to appreciate Pakistan’s conciliatory role in the Afghan peace process, we are happy that the world today supports Pakistan’s position. 

Shah Mehmood Qureshi further said that Pakistan wishes dignified repatriation of Afghan refugees. Given the travel difficulties of Afghan citizens, Pakistan launched a new visa policy to facilitate them. Pakistan is committed to continuing its sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region, including Afghanistan.

Afghan Foreign Minister Muhammad Hanif Atmar appreciated Pakistan’s sincere efforts in the Afghan peace process and thanked Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi for the practical steps taken by the Government of Pakistan to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived at the Afghan Presidential Palace in Kabul. Prime Minister Imran Khan was received by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.

A reception was held in honour of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the delegation. A guard of honour is being presented to Prime Minister Imran Khan at the Presidential Palace.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Abdul Razzaq Dawood are also accompanying Prime Minister Imran Khan. DG ISI Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood and Special Representative for Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq are also accompanying the premier. The delegation was received at Kabul Airport by Afghan Foreign Minister Muhammad Hanif Atmar.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will discuss the Afghan peace process and bilateral relations during his visit to Afghanistan. The Prime Minister is paying a one-day visit at the invitation of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. This is the first visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Afghanistan since he took over as the Prime Minister.
