FM Qureshi to strengthen fraternal relations with Bosnia
Islamabad, 4th November: Foreign Minister and President of Bosnia meet and discuss brotherly relations.
Baaghi TV: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad met the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr Shafiq Jaffrovich during his two-day visit.
During the meeting, issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and the situation in the region, were discussed. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi welcomed the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina and his delegation to Pakistan and said that Pakistan has cordial fraternal relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The President of Bosnia said that Pakistan significantly participated in the UN peacekeeping force during the war in Bosnia for which he was very grateful.
Pakistan seeks to enhance cooperation with Bosnia in various fields including bilateral trade, economy, education, culture and public relations. The exchange of high-level delegations between the two countries will further strengthen bilateral relations.
The Foreign Minister apprised the President of Bosnia of the grave human rights violations by India in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and appreciated his statement regarding Occupied Kashmir.
The international community, including Bosnia, needs to step forward and play its role in rescuing Kashmiris from the Indian siege and oppression.
“We believe that respect for human rights should be paramount, so we emphasized in our statement on Kashmir that human rights should be respected in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and that the Kashmir issue should be addressed by the United Nations,” he said.
He further said, “It should be resolved peacefully in the light of UN Security Council resolutions. I am very happy to come to Pakistan, to meet and discuss with you. There are deep ties between Pakistan and Bosnia during this visit.”
The Foreign Minister apprised the President of Bosnia of Pakistan’s conciliatory role for peace in Afghanistan and expressed his determination to continue his sincere role for peace in the region.
It should be noted that this is the first visit of Mr Shafiq Jaffrovich to Pakistan as the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
