Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi at the Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, bilateral relations, including the promotion of bilateral cooperation in various fields, important regional and global issues of mutual interest were discussed.

“Pakistan considers Uzbekistan an important fraternal country in Central Asia” said, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
FM Qureshi stated that Pakistan and Uzbekistan enjoy cordial relations based on faith, common history and cultural harmony, which provide a strong foundation for the development of bilateral relations in multilateral fields.

Referring to previous meetings with his Uzbek counterpart in Munich and Moscow, the Foreign Minister said that Pakistan was focused on promoting economic partnership, peace, development and enhancing ties with Uzbekistan.
“Close ties are welcome in important regional and international forums, especially in the United Nations, OIC, ECO and SCO” added, Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

“The two countries continue to work closely to enhance regional ties, especially for the speedy construction of the Trans-Afghan Railway project between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan,” said Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
The Foreign Minister briefed his Uzbek counterpart on Pakistan’s conciliatory efforts for peace in Afghanistan and their positive results. The two Foreign Ministers agreed to promote bilateral cooperation in multilateral fields, including bilateral trade, between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
