Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi gives an important statement on Iraq

Lahore, 1st June: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that no foreign minister has ever visited Iraq in four decades.

Foreign Minister Qureshi, while addressing a press conference on Tuesday said that Iraq is an important OIC country and it’s role in Middle East peace is very significant.

FM Qureshi added that Pakistan has submitted its resolution to the UN Human Rights Council on behalf of OIC and there has been a preliminary success in the case of Ceasefire on Palestine.

The adoption of the resolution of the Independent Commission of Inquiry into the atrocities and serious human rights violations against the Palestinians in the Human Rights Council is a significant achievement.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi also briefed his Iraqi counterpart on the Kashmir issue. “I want peace in the region,” he told his Iraqi counterpart.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also said that Pakistan has good relations with the UAE and we want stronger ties with UAE in the future.

Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi informed that Prime Minister Imran Khan also held talks with the Crown Prince of UAE.

He said that ‘when there were some difficulties during the PSL matches, my conversation with the UAE Foreign Minister made things easier.’

Foreign Minister, while addressing said that the biggest pressure on India is the deteriorating internal situation. According to statistics, 230 million people in India are living below the poverty line.

Qureshi revealed that due to wrong policies, India’s economy shrank to 7.3%. He said that in April alone, 7.3 million people lost their jobs in India.

“India will have to restore the special status of occupied Kashmir against its will,” Shah Mahmood Qureshi added.

“Today, due to our successful foreign policy, the world considers Pakistan not part of the problems but part of the solution,” said the Foreign Minister.
