Former cricketing legends, David Gower and Viv Richards meet PM Imran Khan

Nov 2, 2021: Legendary cricketers Sir Vivian Richards and David Gower met Prime Minister Imran Khan at his office in Islamabad on Monday and praised the Pakistan cricket team’s performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

Issues related to promotion of national cricket, especially provision of facilities and opportunities to young players were discussed during the meeting.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that there is no shortage of talent in Pakistan and that the government is taking steps to provide better facilities to young players.

The Prime Minister said that instructions have been given to set up playgrounds in every area to provide healthy recreational opportunities to children and youth. Both the cricketers appreciated the performance of the Pakistani team in the T20 World Cup matches which almost qualified for the semi-finals by defeating India, New Zealand and Afghanistan in the group matches.

Legendary cricketers are in Pakistan as part of a panel of PTV sports experts to analyze matches during the mega event.
