Lahore: Former diplomat and international affairs expert, Tariq Pirzada has passed away due to coronavirus.
Tariq Pirzada was known to be a kind, humble and affable man, well respected by those who knew him. According to his acquaintances, he was a gentle person and always spoke diplomacy for the country. His loved ones are deeply saddened by his death.
Meanwhile, the virus has continued wreaking havoc in the country and, today, according to reports, 95 more people have lost their lives with 416 new cases arriving. The overall rate of positivity rate across the country during the last 24 hours has been 6.4%.
According to the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), 62,496 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths from the virus in Pakistan has been 25,415, with a total of 1144,427 cases.
According to NCOC, 386,578 cases were reported in Punjab, 427,37 in Sindh, 159,483 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 32,14 in Balochistan, 9,795 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 97,956 in Islamabad, and 31,478 in Azad Kashmir.
