The court sentenced former MQM sector in-charge Raees Mama to five years imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the accused. According to the court decision, the accused, Raees Mama, has been an employee of KDA. He used his job for money laundering while on the job.

According to police, the accused was in charge of the sector of Raees Mama MQM Korangi. The accused was arrested from Malaysia. According to the lawyer, 18 cases of police encounter, murder, extortion and others have been registered against the accused. In the case, MQM London leader Wasi Jalil is absconding.

It may be recalled that two years ago in April, a JIT comprising Rangers, CTD and Special Branch officers was formed to probe MQM London’s target killer Raees Mama.

It may be recalled that Raees Mama, while recording his statement in the court, had admitted that he carried out targeted killings on the orders of the leadership of a political party. The accused also confessed to killing security personnel.
