Former MQM leader survives shooting attack in Houston
Lahore, 12th July: Former MQM leader Nadeem Nusrat survived a shooting attack on his car.
According to reports, the Voice of Karachi Chairperson and former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Nadeem Nusrat survived a shooting attack on his car in Houston, Texas on Monday.

The general secretary of the Voice of Karachi group, Imran Hussain, announce the news on Twitter. He wrote, “I can confirm that multiple shots were fired at Voice of Karachi and SAMAF chairman Nadeem Nusrat’s vehicle this afternoon in Houston, Texas.”

Former MQM senior leader Wasay Jalil also confirmed the news via Twitter that Nadeem Nusrat had been attacked in Houston today.

He tweeted, “Assassination attack on Chairman Voice of Karachi Nadeem Nusrat. Mr. Nadeem Nusrat’s car was fired upon while returning from a program in Houston this afternoon. Nadeem Nusrat was returning with Central Broadcasting Secretary Shahid Farhad after attending the program.
He added, “More details shortly.”

According to reports gathered from the spokesman of Voice of Karachi, Nadeem Nusrat was going home along with Central Information Secretary Shahid Farhad after speaking at an event when shots from an unidentified source were fired at his car.
The Voice of Karachi has not yet named anyone.

It may be noted that Nadeem Nusrat was once a strong supporter of MQM leader Altaf Hussain and worked for him for over two decades. During his tenure, he got sacked from the party position several times and remained inactive for years.
Altaf Hussain later called him over to London where he ran affairs of Karachi from there.
Around three years ago he parted ways with the MQM leader and left for Houston and set up his own party along with Wasay Jalil.
