Former Naval Chief, former NAB chairman Fasih Bukhari has died, according to a Baaghi TV report.

Fasih Bukhari’s funeral prayers will be offered this afternoon in Chak Shehzad Islamabad. Political and military officials will attend the funeral prayers.

Admiral Fasih Bukhari (May 2, 1997 to October 2, 1999) became the 14th Chief of the Pakistan Navy. Admiral Bukhari was commissioned in the Pakistan Navy on January 1, 1959. He participated in the 1965, 1971 and Kargil wars.

He became the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Navy on November 10, 1994 and retired early on October 2, 1999 when General Pervez Musharraf was made the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.

In October 2011, he was appointed Chairman of the NAB. In recognition of his services, he has been awarded Nishan Imtiaz (Military), Hilal Imtiaz (Military), Sitara Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara Basalt.
