Former Olympian Akhtar Rasool tested positive for COVID-19

LAHORE (November 27, 2020): Pakistan’s former hockey player and Olympian Akhtar Rasool has tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday (today).

According to Akhtar Rasool’s brother Khalid Iqbal, Akhtar is suffering from coronavirus and has been undergoing treatment in a private hospital for the last 11 days.

Leading Olympian Akhtar Rasool, 66, is the former captain of Pakistan’s national hockey team and he was also appointed as the Chief of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) in 1997 for a one year term and later, as a President in 2013.

PHF President Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, Secretary Asif Bajwa and other officials also offered prayers for Akhtar Rasool’s speedy recovery.
