Former PM Manmohan Singh admitted to Cardio-Thoracic Ward

India, 31st May: India’s former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi after he complained of chest pain. He is currently under observation as per sources. 

Manmohan Singh was taken to AIIMS in Delhi a few days when he complained of chest pain. According to sources, a team of doctors is currently attending to the former PM. Former PM Manmohan Singh is under the care of Dr. Nitish Naik, a professor of cardiology at AIIMS-Delhi.

Manmohan Singh’s condition improving, Covid-19 test negative

A source close to the former prime minister said, “All his parameters are fine. He is under observation at the AIIMS,” adding that he was taken to the hospital after he complained of “uneasiness”.

Aged 87, Dr. Manmohan Singh underwent successful coronary bypass surgery at AIIMS in Delhi in 2009.

Dr. Manmohan Singh first joined the Government of India as Economic Advisor in the Commerce Ministry in 1971. He later served as the Finance Minister of India from 1991 to 1996 and went on to become India’s fourteenth Prime Minister in 2004. At present, he is a member of the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan.
