Riyadh, 18th November: Former Saudi intelligence chief warns Joe Biden about Iran.
According to a Baaghi TV report, Saudi Arabia’s former intelligence chief, Prince Turki al-Faisal, has warned the United States not to repeat the mistakes made in the nuclear deal in the name of a previously agreed joint comprehensive strategy with Iran. Al-Faisal made the remarks while addressing US President Joe Biden.
Turki al-Faisal, speaking at the 29th Arab-American Policy-Making Conference, said, “Mr Joe Biden don’t repeat the mistakes and stalemate of the first deal. No non-comprehensive agreement will be able to achieve lasting peace and security in our region. The powers had reached a nuclear deal with Iran when Joseph Biden was their vice president. President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from the deal in May 2018 and reimposed economic sanctions on Iran.”
During his recent election campaign, Biden announced that he would rejoin the nuclear deal with Iran with certain conditions. It is not yet clear what the conditions will be for the United States to rejoin the deal.
